There’s a rainy storm headed my way today in California, so today is a great day to feature this stunning elopement with Hurricane Michael in the background. This gorgeous and intimate elopement was submitted to us by Zoe at Zoe Steindl Photo. I have been so excited for this post to go out! I’m a huge fan of weather and storms, so I immediately fell in love with this elopement.
Elena and Eddie are from Philly and planned their elopement with help from their photographer Zoe. They flew down to Sanibel Island right as Hurricane Michael was approaching Florida. Their family had no idea they were eloping and didn’t find out until they returned home.
Even though the bride and groom were alone for their day, Elena still had her grandmother’s vintage mirror and hairbrush. She also got a custom jean jacket for the special occasion.
I also loved the first look shots. Something about the shot of the groom putting out the petals before the first look is so intimate and really showcases how this elopement came together.
Elena was worried that the approaching hurricane Michael would ruin their plans, but it did exactly the opposite! The photos came out so beautiful and super moody. It really did turn into a gorgeous and intimate elopement.
